Xanga + Commercials again

Xanga… those were the good ol’ blogging days. I remember when my old good friend Ferrick told me to make a xanga and I had no clue what I was getting in to. I made it and shortly thereafter the phenomenon started. Everyone had a xanga and was blogging about life. I liked to see how weird I could get my page to look. People were about to get creative with how things looked, with songs, with everything. Myspace is like that, but it’s trashy. I forgot how many people had it. It was so cool, people could subscribe, comment and thats about all. It was awesome though.

I think it was a good thing. People knew more about others lives, what was going on, and were able to share their 2 cents on the topic. People talked about things.

It was a sad time when xanga came to an end for me and many others. I remember writing my final entry over a year ago after trying to keep it alive. There was a season where nothing happened, no major blogging, no nothing. I tried to start up again, with blogger and a few others, but they just never stuck. Finally, I got wordpress and blogging has been good. I also found out about Google Reader and it also changed things for me.

I’m happy to see more people blogging again, it brings back a familiar sense of care for other people when reading what they have to say. People just need to be careful to not waste time reading about things not worth reading.

Long live blogging and rest in peace Xanga.

I can’t help but post these again. I love these commercials more than any thing. They are seriously my favorite of all time…
